Orange Moldova is looking for a new colleague to fill in the position of External Platforms Team Leader.
This role is the accountable owner for all externally sourced core platforms and governs the people, platforms, vendors and contracts. This job bridges commercial, technical and operational accountability, ensuring third-party platforms are procured, integrated, operated and governed to the highest standards of reliability, security and cost efficiency.
team leadership:
- lead, mentor and develop engineering and operations capabilities inside the team
- set team priorities, manage workload distribution and remove blockers across both tracks
- define ways of working, tools’ standards and operational processes for the team
- conduct regular performance reviews and career development conversations
- represent EPS in cross-functional forums and CIO-level reporting
vendor & contract management
- own the full contract lifecycle for all EPS vendors: negotiation, execution, renewal and exit planning
- maintain a vendor register covering commercial terms, SLA commitments, escalation contacts and review dates
- lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key vendors, tracking KPIs and SLA compliance
- manage vendor risk: financial viability, operational dependency and exit scenarios
- coordinate with Legal and Procurement on contract structuring and compliance requirements
- own the EPS budget — forecast vendor costs, manage renewals and track TCO across the portfolio
engineering & operational oversight
- provide strategic technical & operational direction to Platform Engineers on integration architecture, application management and security posture
- act as the senior escalation point for major incidents, coordinating vendor and internal response
- review and approve significant platform changes including vendor-delivered upgrades and configuration changes
- drive continuous improvement in platform reliability, security and operational efficiency
- contribute to build vs. buy vs. extend decisions with combined technical and commercial assessments
required qualifications & experience
- proven experience in IT operations, platform engineering or managed services, in a lead or management role
- strong technical background in systems integration, platform operations or telecoms core systems
- experience operating ITIL-aligned processes: incident, change, problem and availability management
- excellent communication skills — able to translate between technical detail and business impact at all levels
- commercial acumen — comfortable managing budgets, reading contracts and presenting to senior stakeholders
- proven experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating multi-year technology contracts
nice to have:
- familiarity with telco platform vendors: Comviva, Huawei, Ericsson, Syniverse or similar
- exposure to telecoms regulatory compliance: GDPR, eIDAS (mobile identity), PCI-DSS (charging)
- ITIL v4, PMP or equivalent management certification
