We're looking for a Senior Engineer who lives and breathes security-someone who cares obsessively about safe, scalable code and wants to help teams get better every day.
You’ll lead the charge on our secure development practices, set structure around pull requests, and support our CTO (who owns architecture) in keeping our systems lean, fast, and future-ready.
You're not here to be the architect-but you understand good architecture, and you’re a partner to those who define it. You’re here to make the engineering team stronger, help shape the culture,
and ensure we don’t cut corners.
What You’ll Do
- Lead StoreKeeper’s secure coding initiative - from threat modeling to PR reviews
- Make security part of the team’s daily habit (not a checklist)
- Design and enforce team-wide PR workflows that promote:
- Peer review, not silos
- Clear ownership and accountability
- Secure, consistent code quality
- Collaborate with the CTO on implementation patterns and architectural alignment
- Work with DevOps to close gaps between code and infra security
- Work with the Development Team to set standards for and improve software performance and mentor other team members
- Align with Product & CPO to ensure new features scale securely
- Spot risks early, both in technical design and in process
- Mentor developers in secure thinking, clean design, and peer leadership
- Push for better every day, without pushing people over the edge
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years as a senior software engineer or team lead
- Strong experience with PHP, React (React.js), and PostgreSQL
- Proven passion and track record in application and platform security
- Familiar with OWASP, secure API design, and software hardening techniques
- Affinity with architecture: you know a clean system when you see it
- Strong communicator who can rally a team around technical quality
- Prior experience in SaaS or eCommerce environments is a plus
- Comfortable navigating a fast-moving, feedback-rich startup culture
