Job Description:

R Systems is searching for ex-Affirmed experienced Support Engineers with MCC, vMME, and UC experience to join our team of innovators!

We are searching for highly experienced telecom engineers to provide Tier-2 support and professional services for Microsoft’s Azure for Operators (AFO) products—specifically Affirmed MCC, vMME, and UC.

These engineers will act as the final line of support for global telecom customers during the EOL phase of Microsoft’s telecom network functions business.

Your contribution:

• Own and resolve complex Tier-2 support cases for Affirmed MCC and Metaswitch UC products.
• Troubleshoot live network issues (e.g., vMME failures, subscriber attach problems).
• Analyze logs, trace protocols (S1AP, GTP, Diameter), and identify root causes.
• Apply workarounds or fixes independently, escalating to Microsoft only when necessary.
• Communicate clearly with telecom operators during incidents and maintain SLA compliance.
• Document root cause analyses, update knowledge bases, and preserve customer-specific insights.

Bring along:

• 5+ years in telecom networking (support or consulting).
• Expertise in Affirmed MCC, vMME, SGW/PGW, and Metaswitch UC.
• Strong knowledge of LTE EPC, 5G SA, and 3GPP standards.
• Proficiency in Linux, virtualization (VMware), and containerization (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Excellent problem-solving and independent troubleshooting skills.
• Fluent in English; additional languages (Spanish, French, Japanese) are a plus.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
