  • Gross wage (incl. 30% tax): from 1800 – 3500 EUR/month. The final basic wage component can be increased accordingly to the individual skills and experience of the selected candidate.

This job position is supported by the EU-funded labour mobility programme Digi Talents for ICT 
professionals between Slovakia and Moldova. 

Brief description of the Digi Talents programme
Digi Talents programme is implemented with the financial assistance of the European Union, contracted by ICMPD through the Migration Partnership Facility. Brief description of the company
IBM is a multinational technological corporation with operations in over 170 countries worldwide. IBM creates and delivers hardware and software to the global market and provides consulting in the IT sector. Among the many inventions of IBM, one may find ATMs, personal computers, credit cards, bar code, among many others. It is also an early adopter of artificial intelligence, quantum computing and blockchain. Currently, IBM’s portfolio includes all segments of computer science and IT.

Information about the position:

Our teammates are keen to invite new developers in their team. We are looking for passionate Frontend developers who will be working on further development and maintenance of applications at various clients’ infrastructure.

You will lead the entire app life-cycle right from concept stage until delivery and post launch support, and ensure they continue to function flawlessly across new releases. Your role will be not only a software developer but technical designer and code reviewer on several projects as well.

You will apply your understanding of various coding methodologies and tools and know when to use each method to achieve the desired outcomes. That might also require to work “beyond” pure programming and take part in the full software development lifecycle. As such, you should be able to transform requirements into stipulations and identify application issues, and recommending changes to improve the established processes. During this process, you will use your written and oral skills a lot, as we work in teams and also face clients in daily interactions. Your interpersonal abilities will come useful, as well as your adaptability and willingness to work in a changing environment. 

Preferred non-technical skills:

  • Experience with version control systems and responsive design experience
  • Working knowledge of testing, from unit, to functional in a frontend context
  • Being familiar with Agile development processes
  • Good communication and human relation skills
  • Good organizational skills in a deadline driven environment
  • Have good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creativity, enthusiasm and energy with a strong customer focus
  • English (speaking and writing), German language is beneficial

Preferred technical skills:

  • Enterprise software applications design, development and configuration Web UI development:
    HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript,
  • Knowledge with at least one of these frameworks: React.js/Angular/Vue.js
  • Knowledge and experience in Rest Api design and implementation
  • BE: core Java SE, Java EE or Node.js – basic understanding
  • DevOps pipeline basics
  • Usage of CI/CD tools basics
  • Understanding of Twelve-Factor App principle
  • Containers (Docker, Cloud Foundry) and clusters (Mesos, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes) – basics
  • Frameworks: Spring, JPA, Junit
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, TypescriptKnowledge of JavaScript UI frameworks
  • OOP, prototype inheritance
  • CSS 2/3 (pseudo-classes, shadows, gradients, multiple backgrounds, browser implementation differences)
  • AJAX, JSON, Rest API

About the Tekwill Project implemented by ATIC

Tekwill has been designed as a national public private partnership between the Government of Moldova, USAID, Microsoft, and IBM to answer the needs of the ICT industry to close the gap of the human capital shortage, as well as support the development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem. The initial goal of the project was to contribute to the extension of the Tekwill project as a sustainable network and deploy its programs on regional/national level. The project aims at determining the operation model of the network, determining business plans for the relevant created centers or partners in the regions, deploy scalable activities to connect an estimated of 150,000 people to ICT (school and university students, community, etc.), deploy entrepreneurship programs aiming at both scaling up existing programs, as well as create inclusive innovation platforms for the regions, with their respective specifics and potential to absorb/apply ICT. We envision a minimum 10,000 beneficiaries/year for each direction (education and entrepreneurship) As a result of the project, 2 main outcomes of the project are expected: more and better qualified skills and workforce developed leading to a stronger ICT industry in Moldova, as well as creating the premises for a Startup Moldova program driving opportunities for companies seeking capitalization.

Now, ATIC is also implementing the Digi Talents Moldova Project

The project contributes to the objectives of the EU Agenda on Migration by establishing a well-managed labour mobility programme for young students or graduates and IT Professionals that is mutually beneficial to both participating countries – Moldova and Slovakia, and it will last until February, 2024.

“Digi Talents”, as a mobility and career advancement programme between Slovakia and Moldova, aims to:

  • Develop cooperation between Slovakia and Moldova on labour migration and foster economic exchange between the ICT sectors of the two countries.
  • Support young Moldovans starting their careers in the ICT sector by establishing a viable temporary labour mobility programme which will offer 50 young Moldovan talents (students or graduates of ICT related fields) a 12-month employment or a 3-month internship in leading ICT companies in Slovakia.
  • Support the development of Moldova by reintegrating successful graduates of the programme upon their return to Moldova via their effective placement on the labour market or business start-ups, in cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support transfer of knowledge and skills between the Slovak and Moldovan ICT sectors as well as development of business relations between private companies in both countries.
