About the Role 

We are looking for a detail-oriented and security-minded DevOps Engineer to join a larger cloud engineering team working for our end client in the EU. In this role, you will focus on the security of the deployment pipeline across AWS and Azure environments. You will follow the team's agile way of working, contribute to weekly planning sessions, and periodically present and advocate for your work in front of advisory and security boards. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Deployment Pipeline Security: Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines across AWS and Azure, including automated scanning and checks as part of the deployment process, rather than as a separate, disconnected step. 
• Cloud Security Posture: Help monitor and maintain the security posture of deployments across both cloud platforms, flagging and helping resolve gaps before they reach production. 
• Identity & Access: Support secure identity, access, and secrets management practices for deployment pipelines (IAM/RBAC, key/secret vaults) across AWS and Azure. 
• Team Collaboration: Work as part of a larger cloud engineering team, reporting to a team manager and coordinating closely with peers on deployment and infrastructure. 
• Agile Delivery: Follow the team's agile board and participate in the weekly planning session. 
• Stakeholder Communication: Periodically present to and align with advisory and security boards, explaining and defending deployment security decisions in front of a non-purely-technical audience. 
• Documentation: Keep deployment and security-related configuration, decisions, and processes documented for the wider team. 

Qualifications & Skills 

• Solid, hands-on cloud experience across both AWS and Azure. 
• Background in DevSecOps or security-focused deployment/CI-CD engineering. 
• Experience with securing deployment pipelines (e.g. vulnerability/dependency scanning, container security, secrets management), exact toolset to be confirmed. 
• Bachelor's degree or higher. 
• Fluent in English (written and spoken). 
• Comfortable working as part of a larger team. 
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to present and justify technical/security decisions to non-technical or governance-oriented boards.
