During a visit to Washington, D.C., United States, I volunteered with SOME (So Others Might Eat), a nonprofit organization that provides food, shelter, healthcare, and support services to people experiencing homelessness.
As a volunteer, I assisted with serving meals, washing dishes after meal service, helping to prepare and distribute food, maintaining a clean and organized dining area, and supporting staff with various daily activities. This experience strengthened my teamwork, communication, compassion, and customer service skills while reinforcing the importance of serving people with dignity and respect.
