Senior Java Software Engineer

BSW TECH is looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Java Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Chișinău.

You will contribute to the design and development of scalable software solutions for international clients, working closely with developers, architects, QA engineers, and product stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable Java applications;
• Build scalable backend services and REST APIs;
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decisions;
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code;
• Review code and support engineering best practices;
• Troubleshoot complex technical and performance issues;
• Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams;
• Estimate development tasks and contribute to delivery planning;
• Mentor colleagues and share technical knowledge;
• Participate in the continuous improvement of development processes.

Required qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional Java development experience;
• Strong knowledge of Java and the Spring ecosystem, particularly Spring Boot;
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs;
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles;
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL;
• Practical knowledge of JPA, Hibernate, and database optimization;
• Experience with unit and integration testing;
• Confident use of Git and modern software development workflows;
• Understanding of microservice and distributed-system architectures;
• Experience with Agile development methodologies;
• Good problem-solving and communication skills;
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes;
• Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging technologies;
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud;
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines;
• Experience with application monitoring and logging tools;
• Knowledge of application security best practices;
• Previous experience working directly with international clients.
