Concrete is a web design and growth studio. We build and run websites for businesses in New Zealand and Australia. We are hiring one SEO specialist to own organic growth for both of our own sites.
This ad is in English on purpose. The whole job is in English: the markets are New Zealand and Australia, the pages you plan are read by New Zealanders, and you will email publishers and editors there yourself, without me in the middle. If you only work in Romanian or Russian, this role is not for you.
You own SEO end to end: strategy, content, links, technical work and reporting. No agency, no middleman. You are the SEO function.
What you will own:
Keyword and market research for NZ and AU
2 new pages per site per week: briefs, outlines, editing the writer, publishing
4 quality backlinks per site per month: finding targets, outreach, negotiating and buying placements, keeping publisher relationships alive
Technical SEO on a fast static site: schema, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, crawling and indexing
Google Business Profile
Around 60 listings: agency review platforms (Clutch, DesignRush, GoodFirms, The Manifest), design galleries and awards (Awwwards, CSSDA, Behance), business directories
Search Console and GA4, and a monthly report on organic visits, rankings and enquiries
Requirements:
2+ years of SEO on real websites, not only audits
English strong enough to write briefs, edit copy written for a native audience, and run publisher outreach on your own. We will talk in English at the interview
Hands-on link building, including paid placements. You know the difference between a link worth buying and a link that gets us penalised
Confident in Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs or Semrush, and able to read a SERP
You can explain why a page ranks, not just that it does
Nice to have:
Experience with NZ, AU, UK or US markets
Local SEO and Google Business Profile
Basic HTML
Conditions:
Remote, full time
USD 1,500 to 2,000 per month
You work as a contractor and handle your own taxes (II, PFA or IT Park)
You work directly with the founder, no layers
Budget for links and tools is separate from your pay
How to apply:
Send your CV and, in a few lines, answer this: look at concreteweb.co.nz/web-design and whiterabbit.nz/website-design/. We want to rank for "web design auckland". What is our page missing, which three link targets would you go after first and why, and what would you measure at month 3 to know it is working?
