Due to the expansion of our team, we are looking for a News Editor to join our News Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for publishing several short news stories daily (3–4 sentences) covering current events around the world. At the moment, our focus is on news from Moldova and Portugal.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience as an editor or journalist, preferably in an international news department
- Good knowledge of international journalism trends, current affairs, and international relations
- Strong interest in global events and current affairs
- Fluent English
- Knowledge of other foreign languages is a plus
- Experience working with news agencies and/or video and text-based media is preferred
- Ability to present news clearly, accurately, quickly, and in an engaging way
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively under pressure
WOULD BE A PLUS:
- Knowledge of foreign languages in addition to English
- Ability to create engaging short-form videos that capture users’ attention on social media
- Understanding of basic storytelling and dramaturgy principles
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitoring international news feeds and media outlets
- Searching for interesting and exclusive stories from international sources
- Submitting topics for management approval
- Writing short news articles
- Making edits and revisions when necessary
