Who are Plan International?

How have Plan International responded to the Ukraine Crisis?

Since March 2022, Plan International has been responding to the crisis in partnership with civil society organisations in Poland, Romania, and Moldova to meet the needs of those affected by the crisis as well as host communities, and we are also extending operations in Ukraine itself.

We are supporting an integrated education and child protection response, incorporating mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), with cash and voucher assistance (CVA) as a modality. 

What can you bring?

As Finance Officer, you'll be supporting the finance and accounts function in the Ukraine Crisis Response by ensuring efficiency, effectiveness and value for money transactions. 

You'll be

  • Supporting petty cash replenishment vouchers and validating petty cash count on a regular basis as per Plan financial guidelines  
  • Supporting the posting of the country office finance returns by working closely with program team, accountant and country finance manager for allocation methodology
  • Supporting monthly cash forecasts for the country office
  • Drafting financial reports for internal and external stakeholders as requested
  • Support auditing process by compiling necessary documentation 
  • Prepare third party payment documents and ensure that they are complete and accurate  

You'll have:

Essential  

  • Experience and/or education in a finance field: accounting; reporting; grants finance; financial planning and analysis for example. 
  • The ability to communicate clearly, effectively and as appropriate to the audience.  
  • Knowledge of internal controls, audit and/or financial management.  
  • MS Excel proficiency 
  • Solution focused; able to prioritise, deliver on time and cope with ambiguity.  
  • Working knowledge of written and spoken English.  
  • Team player, values interculturality and diversity

Desirable  

  • Knowledge and experience in using SAP 
  • Qualified or part qualified accountant  
  • Some understanding of the humanitarian sector and ways of working.  
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft D365.

Where will I be based? 

You’ll be based in one of the country offices in Chisinau, Bucharest, Warsaw or Kyiv.

Contract duration: 6 months with potential to extend
